For tutors across the UK
Tutorium is welcoming independent tutors into its founding UK cohort. Create a clear subject offer, choose the lesson formats that fit your schedule and apply through a review-led route designed to help learners understand who they are speaking to.
Who it is for: For qualified teachers, university students, graduates and subject experts considering flexible online tutoring in the UK.
Describe the subjects, levels, exam boards, goals and lesson modes you can genuinely support instead of relying on a generic tutor advert.
Use a tutor profile, lesson requests, messaging, scheduling and learning resources in one organised platform.
Tutorium reviews applications and the DBS and qualification evidence requested for an offer before a public profile is intended to appear.
Tutorium is a tutoring marketplace and technology platform. Tutors remain independent providers: they decide whether to apply, what they teach, which availability they publish and whether a particular lesson is suitable. Approval is not employment, a promise of work or a guarantee of earnings.
The platform is designed to make a good tutoring conversation easier to start. A learner or adult customer can understand your subject offer, ask about fit and request a lesson through the normal Tutorium workflow.
The early cohort can include qualified teachers, teaching assistants, university students, graduates, musicians, language specialists, coders and subject experts who can explain a real area of knowledge clearly. What matters is an accurate offer and a responsible approach to the learners you may support.
You do not need to teach every subject or accept every learner. A specific offer—such as GCSE Maths exam practice, A-level Chemistry, beginner piano or adult English—gives a future learner a better starting point.
Start with a profile preview so you can see the information a learner needs. Create an adult tutor account, accept the current Tutor Agreement and safeguarding documents, complete the application and upload the evidence requested for your subject offer.
An authorised administrator reviews the application. A public profile is intended to appear only after the required legal acceptances, approval decision, DBS evidence decision and qualification evidence decision are complete. Private certificates and DBS information are not public profile content.
Before teaching, read the current Tutor Agreement and payment policy. Make sure the lesson, learner, delivery mode, price, timing, supervision and safeguarding arrangements are suitable for you. Keep your own tax, insurance and professional records; Tutorium is not a tax adviser, insurer or employer.
If a learner is under 18, communication must remain on approved channels and the adult account holder must stay in control. Report a concern promptly rather than trying to handle it privately.
No. Tutorium currently describes tutors as independent providers. The legal reality of any working relationship depends on the facts and applicable law; read the Tutor Agreement and obtain independent advice if needed.
No. Applying or receiving approval does not guarantee students, lesson requests, earnings, hours or a particular outcome. Tutors decide which work they accept.
Tutorium reviews the application and the DBS and qualification evidence requested for the tutor's offer. An administrator must record the relevant decisions before a public profile is intended to appear.
A university student may apply if they are an adult, can accurately describe the subjects and levels they can support and can complete the review and safeguarding requirements for the offer.
Tutorium currently has no application or listing fee. Review the current Tutor Agreement and payment policy before accepting any lesson.
Preview the tutor profile, read the trust and Tutor Agreement pages, then use the tutor application route to create an adult account and submit your details for review.
